Life & Lifestyle

3 01 2013

When you look at those two words, what is it that comes to mind?

For me, Life represents the overall experience that we have while we are alive.  Lifestyle, represents the “things” we enjoy while we experience “life.”  So in reality they go hand in hand.  I think the real trick in life is to enjoy every minute of every day, regardless of what “lifestyle” perks you have or don’t have.  In other words be happy with where you are.  If you are trying to improve your lifestyle/life, keep it up!  But don’t let your goal, be your only happiness.  Let the journey to your goal be part of the happiness.

I know it’s easier said then done, but life is short and we need to seize every moment we can!

Success is Earned

16 05 2012

Can you be successful without work?  No!  It seems to me that in this day and age, the work ethic we have in this country would be disappointing to our ancestors.  A lot of us coast along in life without trying to really succeed.  It is easier to just be happy with where we are at then to earn success.

If you take most of the richest people in the world, they have worked their tails off to earn their success.  Yes, some of them have inherited fortunes and those aren’t necessarily the ones I’m talking about.  They received their fortune because their parents worked their tails off.  My point is this.

If you or somebody you know wants to be successful, it requires dedication and a solid work ethic.  Keep on grinding and eventually you will see the fruits of your labor.  I have created a program to help people create their own business, and earn money up front to help motivate them to do so.  What would an extra $400 do for you?  What about earning $1200 in 3 months with an income of $800 a month after that?  If you’d like to see what I have to offer, email me at!

If not, keep on working hard and success is yours to be had!

What Good is Money?

2 05 2012

I’ve titled this article “what good is money?” for several reasons.  I’d like to make you think about money for a minute.

We all know that money can buy clothes, food, homes, cars, etc. and that we pretty much all view it as a necessity.  I agree!  It is something that in this day we all need to survive.  But really what good is it?  What do I mean?

Well, let me share a few thoughts that ran through my head last night while I was trying to go to sleep.

First, imagine yourself as a millionaire.  You have a lot of nice things, and a ton of money sitting nicely in the bank.  Then the world’s financial system has a complete collapse and everything goes to pot.  What then?  With your money sitting in the bank, chances are it could easily be lost during a financial crisis.  You could be left with little to nothing.  Just a thought.

Second, once again you are a millionaire.  Nice stuff, etc.  When a natural disaster hits and it’s pretty devastating to a large region.  Is cash going to help you out?  Maybe to start a fire to stay warm!  But we have all seen how when a disaster strikes, stores are the first to be depleted.

We all need money, to survive.  But sometimes, survival will come from what you do with your money!  This brings me to the point of being prepared.  Food and Water storage should be something we all have in our homes.  Yes, it isn’t easy to store food or water for that matter, but isn’t it worth it?  Currently we have probably about 3 months worth of random food in our “food storage.”  And about a year ago I bought this awesome 260 gallon water tank that sits in the corner of my garage.Image

So what I am trying to say is this: “Money is great, but don’t rely only on money when tough times might be around the corner.”  Disasters happen, we don’t know when they will so be prepared.  Start now, and slowly work your way up to a good amount of storage.  Right now, it might seem dumb or not needed.  But when the brown stuff hits the fan, being prepared won’t seem dumb!  Thoughts or comments please share!

Lifestyle + Earth = ???

26 04 2012

The other day I posted that I was back in the saddle again, and then began writing this post.  But my internet went down and so did my post.  But here we go again!

While planning my Earth Day event, I came across some statistics that frankly blew my mind!  Before we get to those let me share a few of my thoughts about our lifestyles in this day and age.  We can take me for example and talk about what I like.  I love cars, and have had my fair share of them in the 18 years I’ve been able to drive.  The longest I have ever been able to manage to hold on to a car is 3 years.  The least is a year, but I go through them rather quickly.  They end up getting sold to somebody else, and I keep them in great condition but I change cars a lot!  That kind of attitude also shifts over into other aspects of our lives.  Take computers for example.  The technology changes quickly, and the computer you bought last year isn’t the top of the line anymore.  Can it do what you need it to do?  Most likely yes, but something in our way of thinking makes us want the new “cooler” more awesome machine.  Take the iPhone or iPad for example.  You might have one, but when the next one comes out are you going to want that one?  I know I will!  LOL!

But this brings me to my point.  We go through things quickly, and what happens to them after we are done with them?  Do we recycle them?  Do we sell them?  I would like everyone to think about a few things today as you go through your day.  Every time you throw something in the trash today, think about whether it needs to go in the garbage or if it should go in the recycle bin.  If we become a little more aware of what we are doing throughout the day, we might be able to make a change for good in the world.  Why would that matter?  Well here are the stats I mentioned earlier.

  • To produce each week’s Sunday newspapers, 500,000 trees must be cut down.
  • Recycling a single run of the Sunday New York Times would save 75,000 trees.
  • The amount of wood and paper we throw away each year is enough to heat 50,000,000 homes for 20 years.
  • Americans use 2,500,000 plastic bottles every hour! Most of them are thrown away!
  • Recycling plastic saves twice as much energy as burning it in an incinerator.
  • About one-third of an average dump is made up of packaging material!
  • Rainforests are being cut down at the rate of 100 acres per minute!
  • On average, each one of us produces 4.4 pounds of solid waste each day. This adds up to almost a ton of trash per person, per year.

These are just a few of the stats that I found while looking into my Earth Day Celebration.  So my point it this: Recycle what can be recycled, and try to minimize 4.4 pounds of waste each day!  The reason I feel so passionate about this, is because I have 3 kids.  I don’t want them to have to clean up our mess, or live like the humans do on Wall-E.  If you remember in the movie, the humans were flying around in a spaceship because earth was no longer able to sustain life.  Why?  Because of all of the garbage!  Let’s try and clean up our act, and make sure we are recycling what we can and if you want to go another step further, compost what you can too.  My 2 cents for the day!  Please comment and let me know what you think.

Let’s keep our mountains looking like this….

And not this….

Happiness is a state of being!

5 04 2012

In life we are blessed with so many different choices.  One of which is how we look at our life.  Do we go through the day dreading every task or chore, or do we embrace the fact that we are alive and enjoying another day of life?  Since you are sitting at your computer or on your phone or iPad, let’s try something.  In my last post I talked about Smiling and the effect that it can have on yourself and others.  Let’s try putting together Happiness, and Smiling as a little drill.  If you are like me sitting here, you probably have a blah face.  Meaning you aren’t smiling or frowning, just being blah.  Let’s try putting a smile on your face………….see how that feels?  Doesn’t it almost instantly change your demeanor?  If we can all work on smiling, and remembering all of our blessings we will begin working our way to happiness.  Happiness is not just when you get a new car, or toy, or outfit, it is something that can be had at all times.  It is a matter of controlling our thoughts and creating an environment for thoughts of good things that we have in life, and removing the thoughts that will bring us down.

How much more will we accomplish if we can work with a smile and an understanding that we should be happy that we can work?  I would go out on a limb and say we can accomplish considerably more when you attack a job with a good attitude.  So as I conclude my thoughts for the day, I’d like to challenge all of you, and myself to try and keep a smile on our faces as much as possible the next couple of days.  I would love to hear comments or thoughts on your experiences with trying this.  But for now, have a great rest of the day and remember smile and be happy!

Watch What You Wear

28 03 2012

Yeah, you are probably asking yourself what is this fool talking about.  Well save that question for the end of the thought and see if you would still say that.

When we talk about work or even just a day in life, there is something that can play a role in how you feel.  Your clothing.  This is nothing new to most women, because they are more concerned about appearance then most of us men.  The relation of what you wear to how you act or feel is something very powerful.  To put it in plain simple form, think about when you go on a date.  Do you get spiff’d up? Guys?  Yeah, we usually won’t wear our favorite band’s shirt, or our clothes that we work on our cars with, right!  We get into something nice, possibly even shave, and definitely brush our teeth.  You aren’t doing this just to impress the date, but you are doing it to feel more confident!  Women this applies to you too.  How do you feel about yourselves when you lounge around the house in your schlumpy clothes?  Compare that to how you feel when you get all dressed up and ready for a night out on the town.

So the reason I bring this up, it plays into the previous post about “mind games.”  Watching what you wear can give you confidence, and in turn help your mind be more sure of itself.  Clothes do matter!  It doesn’t need to be a specific brand or cost a load of money, but it needs to make you feel good about yourself.  If you don’t believe me, go out and try on some clothes that are gonna make you look really good.  When you feel good about yourself, it lifts your spirit and will allow you to accomplish things you never imagined possible.  It could improve so many aspects of your life, including family, business, friends, and most importantly self image!

So for heaven sakes people watch what you wear, and wear it with confidence!  Don’t end up looking like this, and in turn feeling like this guy does!  LOL
